White and Gold Wedding

A couple at church got married as part of the service, and then had a potluck lunch afterwards as the reception. It was a beautiful day, shared by the whole church family. We all banded together to make it seem like a wedding - I helped decorate the hall for the reception.

You may recognise the birdcage and several other pieces from the cream and peach wedding morning tea (not to mention the venue...).

The flowers came from someone's garden.

The youth room set up for food (night before).

With food.

So much food!

We used baskets for the cutlery - a bit prettier than the standard tubs we keep them in.

Again, the candle holders and photo frames are from the cream and peach wedding morning tea (although the candle holders are originally from my sister-in-law's wedding).

These flowers also came from the previous wedding - provided by the lady who did the reception.

Special chairs for the newly weds - a bow for the bride and a sash for the groom.

The window decorations.

The drinks table.

Each cup had a white or gold bow around the stem.

The drinks were fruit punch, water and pink lemonade.

The dessert table.

Strawberry shortcake skewers in the middle tray were my creation - cake, strawberries and chocolate on a stick. Easy, simple and yummy.

The wedding cake. (I'm not sure who made this one.)
